The theme of the March 1984 issue of BYTE Magazine was "Simulation." Not only are computer simulations commonly used in commercial pilot training, "flight simulation" games have been popular on PCs since the early days. Tinney's choice of a flying metaphor to represent the concept of "simulations" was both obvious and powerful to the typical computer user. But who would have thought that the pilots themselves would be simulated?!
